· You should decide early on the maximum number of couples you will be having. Then, you can overbook by up to 50% because not everyone will show up.

· In any notices you send out, require people to sign up via an RSVP email. Then, you can reply to the email with all the rules plus the time, date and location of the party. Plus any fun details about a party theme if you're having one. Themes are very popular at swing parties, just as they are at other parties.

Rules to Establish Upfront

· You need to say right at the beginning if you're allowing smoking and video or still cameras. These are deal-breakers for some guests.

· Be clear that you will tolerate no fighting or drunkenness. No one may be forced into any activity they don't want to participate in.
